As Tennyson defined Camelot - A City built to music - the separate lectures will present the musical evolution of Paris, London and Vienna, as each became a great center for culture and art.
The folk traditions of song and dance will be highlighted as a prelude to great operas and ballets, and to the symphonic and chamber masterworks which followed. Popular forms identified with each city will also be reviewed.
